The Festival d’Avignon was founded in 1947 by Jean Vilar. It was on the occasion of an exhibition of contemporary painting and sculpture, organized in the grand chapel of the Palais des papes by Christian Zervos, critic and collector, and the poet René Char, that Jean Vilar was invited to present his first great public success: T.S. Eliot’s Murder in the Cathedral.
Vaison-la-Romaine in Haut-Vaucluse, a few kilometers from Mont-Ventoux, the “Giant of Provence” welcomes you every summer for the “Vaison Danse” festival. The town boasts a rich palette of landscapes, with hills, forests and stretches of renowned vineyards and lavender fields, bringing the colors and essences typical of Provence.
The program for the fête votive de la Saint Michel is published every year by the town hall. 3 days of entertainment for young and old.

The Chorégies d’Orange is France’s oldest festival, dating back to 1869, and has retained all its original features over the years. Every summer, the festival takes place in the perfectly preserved ancient theater of Orange, which seats 8,300 people.
