The Finnish sauna: part of the aqua relaxation area

Looking for a relaxing break …

A hectic life that doesn’t leave you a moment’s rest? Looking for warmth and relaxation? Need a new, truly relaxing experience?

Why not try a sauna session? Still little-known in France, this practice is full of health benefits.
The sauna is a room in which you take a heat bath (between 70°C and 100°C) to eliminate toxins from the body through perspiration, and to get rid of muscular tension and stress.

Sauna bathing is a Finnish custom dating back over 2000 years. In fact, the word “sauna” comes from the Finnish language.
In Finland, saunas can be found everywhere, from homes and businesses to hotels and boats. The practice is an integral part of social life.

Unlike the hammam, the heat in the sauna is dry, which is why temperatures are much higher (it’s possible to take a sauna at 100°C).
In this context, the body temperature rises significantly (it can reach 40°C), and the sweat glands start to secrete a lot of water.

The benefits of Finnish Sauna

These physiological manifestations are reputed to have multiple health benefits. Generally speaking, saunas are used for :

– Hygiene (given the temperature, it’s a radical way of eliminating all parasites)
– Eliminate fatigue and stress (the sauna calms the nerves and is an undeniable relaxation factor)
– Stimulate blood circulation (heat dilates the vessels)
– Eliminate toxins from the body (through perspiration)
– Cleanse the skin (heat loosens dead skin)
– Soften muscles and eliminate muscle tension

We recommend an initial warm-up phase of 15/20 minutes, followed by 15 minutes of rest, then another 15 minutes in the sauna.
