Vaison la romaine's gourmet meetings
This free event, organized by the Comité d’Animation et de promotion du pays Voconces and Vaison-la-Romaine town council, in partnership with “Savourez le Vaucluse”, has become a not-to-be-missed autumn rendezvous, offering the chance to rediscover the flavors of our terroir, explore local cuisine in all its diversity, and meet our producers. A weekend dedicated to taste, during which you’ll enjoy quality, local dishes, and immerse yourself in the flavors of yesteryear.
For a whole weekend, set up in the Espace Culturel, but also outside under open tents, around fifty local producers and craftsmen will be on hand to showcase their products, and many wineries, estates and Young Farmers will be presenting their wines and matching them with local produce.
The Rencontres Gourmandes are a place for sharing, meeting and exchanging ideas. A festive and convivial occasion. At lunchtime and in the evening, with a glass of wine to accompany a plate of ravioles, truffle omelette, petit épeautre or Baronnies snails, every moment will be an opportunity to celebrate and savour local flavours, fine combinations and subtle blends.
Gastronomic events
A host of gastronomic events not to be missed: cooking workshops for children and adults, wine, soup and herbal tea bars, tasting and demonstration areas, producers’ market… As a prelude to this event, the grand finale of the Festival des Soupes, where each participating commune presents its finalists selected by the Confrérie des Louchiers.
With demonstrations, culinary workshops, entertainment and sing-alongs, there really is something for all tastes and ages at Les Rencontres Gourmandes.
Some fifty local farmers and artisans will be offering their specialities for tasting and sale. The Côtes-du-Rhône appellation will also be present, with cooperative and private wineries unveiling their cuvées and running workshops on food and wine pairing.
